In the Santerno valley
Castel del Rio is a picturesque village set in the Tuscan-Romagnol Apennines, halfway between Imola and Firenzuola. History, nature and food come together here: hiking trails, roads loved by motorcyclists and mountain bikers, and shops and restaurants a short walk from the house.
In October
Every Sunday in October the village celebrates the Marrone di Castel del Rio, its protected chestnut, with a food festival. It's the liveliest time of the year.
